The value of Twitter is in the hands of the tweeter. In one famous instance, it helped repair a famously marred friendship.
A little more than a week ago, during the end of an interview and photo shoot at Mike Tyson’s home in the Seven Hills luxury home community, Tyson’s wife, Kiki, mentioned a Twitter exchange between her husband and Evander Holyfield.
The back-and-forth started Feb. 22 and centered on an old photo of the two, which was taken at the press conference for Tyson’s October 1987 heavyweight title defense against Tyrell Biggs in Atlantic City (a seventh-round knockout by Tyson). Holyfield started the public conversation by sending Tyson a tweet saying, “Hey @MikeTyson, remember this back n the day photo?” And linked to a photo of the two standing together, fists clenched, with Tyson’s arm draped tightly around Holyfield’s neck.
Tyson countered @Holyfield, “No doubt brother. I got that picture on my wall!”
