Education is the Key to Success! The Holyfield
Foundation awards four-year scholarships to 10 deserving recipients
each year. Launched in 2000, the Foundation's college scholarship
program celebrates the achievements of high school students who are
beating the odds and looking forward to bright futures. Currently, the
program has 50 students enrolled in accredited colleges and
universities throughout the United States.
*The Scholarship program is currently being restructured for the 2006 year. Please check back for an update as to when we will be accepting scholarship applications again.

Youth Scholarship Criteria The
Holyfield Foundation is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to
enhance the lives of youth worldwide by establishing programs and
facilities dedicated to their spiritual, educational and athletic
development. Selection for the Holyfield Foundation Youth
Scholarship is based on a number of determinates, with emphasis on
academic achievement, community involvement and financial need. Candidates for the Holyfield Foundation Youth Scholarship must meet the following eligibility requirements: - Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the State of Georgia
- Must be a high school Senior
- Must
be accepted at an accredited U.S. college, university, technical or
vocational institution as a full-time student no later than May 31st of
this year
- Must have at least a "C" grade point average (2.0) on a 4.0 GPA scale
- Must graduate by June of this scholastic high school year
- Must submit an essay of no less than 350 words on their goals after high-school
- Must have two letters of recommendation (one academic, one non-academic)
- Must submit an Official High School Transcript, to include most recent Spring term grades
- Must submit parent/guardian Official Verification of Income (copy of signed tax return and W-2 form from previous year)
- Must have participated in extracurricular activities including: school, church, and any other volunteer related activities.
The Holyfield Foundation awards scholarships in the amount of $5000. Note to Previously Awarded Recipients You
must have your institution submit a certified copy of your transcript
each year prior to funding being disbursed. This information is needed
to verify enrollment and grade point average qualification.
This
stipulation was included in your initial scholarship application and
may or may not be forwarded as a reminder through-out your funding term.
In order to avoid late payments or termination of your scholarship, please adhere to this request. |
